La Petite Maison's Cocktail – How to Make It

WThis is a home-style interpretation of a beverage found on our latest cocktail list. This is a large-volume premix that's loaded full of flavours of a Christmas time, making it excellent for your holiday party. Reserve the remaining syrup to use in brunch beverages, sweets, or to make another batch of bikinis.

The Bikini Cocktail

Yields 10 guests

To make the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g fine sugar

To make the Drink (yields 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Method

Making the Citrus Syrup: Place the listed components inside a pot, bring to a light boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Next, take off the burner and leave to cool completely. Transfer into a sealable bottle, seal keeping it in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to a month.

To make Batch Mix: Combine the specified liquids in a big jug, leave to sit for an hour, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, making it fully clarified.

When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of your premix into a stirring glass filled with ice, and stir lightly for about 60 seconds to cool it down. Strain into a cold coupe glass or similar, decorate with the cranberries and complete it by giving it a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
